How My Craft Birthday Was Born

When our daughter was about to turn one, my wife and I felt a little sad. Her party would be nothing like our son’s big first birthday back in California, surrounded by family and friends. Newly living in Texas for about 12 months, we didn’t know many people yet, and her celebration was bound to be smaller.

But instead of dwelling on that, we decided to make it extra special. I designed a custom iron‑on birthday shirt just for her. The moment I started her design I pictured her smile, and everything changed. At her party, those worries melted away—we laughed, celebrated with close friends, and received so many kind compliments on her 1st birthday shirt. That simple design created the joyful atmosphere we wanted and reminded us how much love we were pouring into her special day.

That experience sparked something in me. If one shirt could make our daughter’s birthday feel magical, maybe it could do the same for other families. So in 2017, I opened my shop on Etsy, and today I’m proud to share my designs here with you on our own website.

Every piece is inspired by my own family’s milestones, from our son’s first birthday to our daughter’s. My hope is that these designs help you create memories filled with love, laughter, and celebration too.
